Rebecca Grossman Found Guilty Of Second Degree Murder And Gross Vehicular Manslaughter

Socialite Sentenced to 15 Years to Life in Prison for Hit-and-Run That Killed Two Brothers

Rebecca Grossman Found Guilty of Second-Degree Murder and Gross Vehicular Manslaughter

Grossman Was Speeding and Impaired by Alcohol and Valium at the Time of Crash

**Los Angeles, CA** - Rebecca Grossman, a wealthy California socialite and philanthropist, was sentenced on Monday to 15 years to life in prison for the deaths of two young brothers. Grossman was found guilty by a jury in June 2024 on two counts of second-degree murder and two counts of gross vehicular manslaughter in connection with the 2020 hit-and-run crash that killed 11-year-old Mark Iskander and 8-year-old Jacob Iskander. According to prosecutors, Grossman was speeding and impaired by alcohol and Valium when she struck the brothers as they were crossing a street in a crosswalk in Westlake Village. Grossman fled the scene but was later arrested.

In court on Monday, the judge called Grossman's actions "inexcusable" and said that she had "shown no remorse" for the deaths of the two young boys. The victims' parents, Karim and Nancy Iskander, spoke at the sentencing hearing and expressed their devastation over the loss of their sons. "Our lives have been changed forever," Karim Iskander said. "Rebecca Grossman took away our precious children, and she deserves to be punished to the full extent of the law."

Grossman's attorney, Mark Werksman, said that his client was "deeply sorry" for her actions and that she had "made a terrible mistake." Werksman asked the judge for leniency, but the judge imposed the maximum sentence allowed by law.
